Threaders,

Couple of favors/questions. In light of the RMBS action, could someone please elaborate on the dynamics of a short squeeze. I know someone here did so a couple weeks back (was it AT), so my apologies for being repetitive...I couldn't find the post.

Secondly, I would like to tap into some of your thought processes out there....specifically, how do you judge when a stock will run and when it will fizzle when it's up strongly in the am. For example, RMBS up huge Monday, and shortly after Tuesday's open it's up 3 or 4. At this point I think I've missed it, only to check late morning to see it's up double digits. (I don't think the gap strategy would have worked today as it went straight through the roof.) Anyway, my question: How do you gauge whether to you can ride the wave and how do you avoid chasing. I admit I do not really follow RMBS and was not aware of the huge short position, nor was I aware of how it "behaves." Are there certain indicators to watch or is familiarity with the stock the key?

Best,

-Minos
