Rudy, here's a practice that retail chains routinely use -- discounts through volume purchases and rapid payments are not credited to the stores. Instead, they are credited to a corporate account (like G&A). The effect is that when you look at a retailers P&L you wont find the net number in COGS. You will find the gross cost reflected in COGS So the problem is that even if you speak to a store manager he may not know what the net cost to the corporation was.
