CRANFORD, N.J., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- HumaScan Inc. (Nasdaq: HMSC - news), the manufacturer and marketer of
the BreastAlert(TM) Differential Temperature Sensor (''DTS''), an adjunctive medical device, today announced that it has
retained Physicians World Communications Group (''PW''), based in Secaucus, N.J., to implement an integrated education
and communications program to accelerate the acceptance of BreastAlert DTS among physicians. PW is recognized as a
leader in developing medical education and strategic communications programs to support the launch of new pharmaceuticals
and medical devices.

Elizabeth E. Tallett, acting President and Chief Executive Officer commented, ''After reviewing HumaScan's marketing
practices, the Company determined that a comprehensive physician education program on BreastAlert is required and I am
pleased that PW is assisting us in this task. Going forward we believe that by building an informed constituency among medical
opinion leaders we will accelerate the overall acceptance of BreastAlert DTS and increase its penetration. As we have said
before, there is strong interest in BreastAlert DTS, and although our new strategy will take time to implement, we believe it will
translate into significant sales.''

The Company also announced that a professional detailing force with a contract sales organization will be utilized to detail the
product to physicians. Physician Sales & Service, Inc. will continue to be the exclusive distributor of the BreastAlert DTS.

The Company further announced that effective June 22, 1998, Don Brounstein, Director and the former President and Chief
Executive Officer of HumaScan, has resigned from the Board of Directors for personal reasons. Ms. Tallett commented, ''As
the founder of HumaScan, Don has been instrumental in the growth of this Company and in the launch of BreastAlert DTS.
We appreciate his many contributions to HumaScan over the years and wish him well in his future endeavors.''

The BreastAlert DTS is to be used by physicians as an adjunct to routine physical examination including palpation,
mammography and other established procedures for the detection of breast disease.
