Ron,

You make an interesting point RE class action lawsuits and consumer demand for Viagra. Within the pharmacy benefits community, a major consideration regarding Viagra cover/don't cover decisions focuses on existing coverage of other ED products. The HMO executives making the decision to exclude Viagra are aware that by continuing to cover other ED products they are in an extremely vulnerable legal position.

The natural conclusion (IMHO) is that either limited Viagra coverage under certain guidelines will be adopted by most plans or all ED products will be carved out of regular pharmacy benefit plans and offered as an additional rider.

By the way, can anyone tell me the earnings announcement date?

DT

This piece of news is bizarre:

Viagra reaches Lebanon, terrorizes wife

P.S. Ron, if I remember correctly, there are already several class action suits filed against HMOs (on their refusal to cover Viagra). I think I read somewhere that Kaiser (or Aetna) would cover the evaluation of impotence but not the drug.

Ron, I wish you were still practicing law...These HMOs are so arrogant because they seem to have a vast number of politicians in their pocket...A NATIONWIDE BOYCOTT of KAISER PERMANENTE AND AETNA by Viagra users would also hit them hard where it hurts most - their profit coffers..
