>>>Personally, I would like to see about three to six months of exasperatingly slow movements and diminished volume and interest...Because then I can be sure that the intervening and cross currents of shorter termed perspectives are not only cancelled out but squeezed out as well..<<<

How refreshing it is to see someone with such extreme patience in an ordinarily "buy today-sell tomorrow" investment climate.

Are you saying these "quiet" times help weed-out short-term "players"?
If so, does the elimination of these "shorter termed perspectives" somehow make T/A "charting" more reliable or easier to interpret?

Ed,

Or it could mean a long, slow death. But I am optimistic for the long term.

Thanks for the continuing TA education Ed. Well written , as always.
If you are looking for some exasperation, I believe you have stumbled onto the mother lode here...lol. Actually, I see your point ...but there will simply be too much happening at AXC in terms of acquisitions and earnings difficulties this year for the market to finally just yawn I think. One direction or the other, it's gonna move.
Too bad Microsoft chose an STK - DLT based ( as popular as BLTs in the last few years ) solution for its Web Terra Server. That would have been quite a coup for AXC. The Storage Tech system, which apparently stacks DLTs, has a throughput rate of 108GB an hour. Anyone know the DST's rate by that measure? These numbers may be a little misleading ..because a disk front end is used. I assume a RAID. Sorry...reading and writing of all this on the fly.... facts shaky. Bears further investigation though. AXC's potential is still there...but wise never to forget that, particularly with DST, they are competing with some comparatively huge companies.
I personally still hope they seek a buyer ....but perhaps someday I will be glad they did not right now.
