WSB, Having to send in your taxes in a monthly check would wake everyone up to the enourmous tax burden we carry. . So WHY on earth would we want everyone to feel oppressed, and force them to make out monthly checks (many people don't even HAVE checking accounts!) subject to even more oppressive penalties if they are late???!!! . Such a policy would cause more discontent, and therefore more crime, more tax evasion, more non-filers, and therefore an even GREATER burden on the rest of us! . Dick Armey briefly suggested it a couple years ago and he was almost laughed out of the House. He SHOULD have been rode out on a rail!! . Colin
