TVN will initiate its HDTV service in early 1999 on one of its C-band satellite transponders. "TVN has been an innovative satellite television programmer, especially in the area of Near-Video-On-Demand PPV movies," stated Tom Lynch, Senior Vice President and General Manager of GI's Satellite Data Network Systems group. "With their 35-channel DigiCipher(R) II digital PPV service, which is now operational for cable operators and the C-band 4DTV market, TVN is well positioned for the future.
