Shorting stocks in this market is a formula for the poor house and/or the nut house. I hope for your sake this (short list) was an academic exercise not involving real funds.

Speaking from experience is one who shorted NSCP, AOL, and MACROMEDIA a few years back. The NSCP and MACR working out ok, but I got skinned by the AOL position.
