A great article. Tells it like it is. Let's see how Honker turns this into bad news.

PAL,
Thanks for the IBD article on Dell. One more reason to be optimistic about Dell's future.

It seems pretty obvious, even to the occasional BID (bear in denial) that Dell is best positioned, of all the PC companies, to respond to changes in market demand and changes in component prices and performance. I don't think the changes in the market or the components are declining, I think they are increasing. Intel and Microsoft are spending billions to develop new or improved applications. Intel seems to come out with a new CPU every month. The Y2000 problem will probably accelerate the move to Windows NT, necessitating more powerful computers. Sometimes DELL goes down, but not for long.

Jack

When you see articles like this you just know it is time to sell!

Why any business would want to buy $2500 PCs when they can get the same for $1200 defies logic.

Also, why would any sane IT mgr or business exec go to NT5 and a client server people intensive, very risky, non RAS world to solve their Y2K issues?

You Dell types better stop breathing pure oxygen.

Regards,

Don
