Chris; May we please stay with Eze. for the time being. I will be happy to study other verses when we are through. You say that verse 22 applies to the church. Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I [am] the LORD their God from that day and forward. Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. Chris look at these two verses. The house of Israel is clearly national Israel. When was the church in captivity for their iniquity? (23) What you said does not deny that God will someday pour his spirit out on the house of Israel. Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD. When did God hide his face from the Church. I agree he hid it from Israel for their iniquity but it will not be forever. I believe we must keep the meaning of the words the same in these verses. These events have to be yet future after Israel is returned. Eze 39:26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made [them] afraid. Eze 39:27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; This can not be the Church. When did the Church dwell safely in the land? When was the Church gathered out of their enemies lands? Why does it bother you to think God may bless Israel as well as the Church. I agree that they will have to accept their Jewish Messiah Yeshua and I believe this will happen. God brought them back into the land. He will again intervene for them which will cause them to return to him. Eze 38:18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, [that] my fury shall come up in my face. Eze 38:19 For in my jealousy [and] in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; Eze 38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I [am] the LORD. This earthquake that is talked about here and elsewhere in these 2 chapters has yet to occur. Like all of God's prophecy it will occur in the future. His promises to Israel and you are without repentance. He will keep his word to them and to us. Praise Yeshua - DLL
