Patent Infringement and Anti-Trust are two entirely different topics. Further, experts testify to help clarify the matters. These judges don't have any understanding of molecular biology, operating systems, bus arbitration, ad nausem.

All true. But we should not look at the "technicality" of a particular case as a shield against the courts - they will come in and make their judgments if that's what they want to do. In fact, is there an important area of human or economic activity where the courts are not present? They approve our marriages, they divide up the kids when marriages fail, they regulate, fine and advise . . . they will get into tech more and more as the years go by.
