Dr. Bruski,

You are correct in your calculations but I would add that the market doesn't normally care much about an extraordinary loss such as a charge for a failed acquisition. If Adaptec meets the number in operating earnings, I think the stock will largely ignore the $20 million write off. This is really just an accounting gyration so the expenses are not matched with sales since they are a direct result of the failed acquisition.
