Don't be so sure, Mexico can beat any body, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, etc.

They have defeated Brazil in the past.

You have referred to the factor of emotion. I think in the last ten minutes Mexico moved on that factor and channelled it well. It counts for a lot, maybe even for the Italian victory over Germany in 1970.

If emotion was a factor, I am glad that for Mexico that it was not a case of too little too late. Under the right conditions it bodes well for them in the next round, particularly because they tied and did not win the game. That should reduce the possibility of overconfidence.

What I like about the first round is that there were no (or very few, or surprisingly few) free rides.
