$650. It's mass market at $300 and below. How many does Sony need to sell to make back their R&D? If it's next year, they can hit that price in 1999. I don't think it counts as a carry-on. You can still bring one more bag.

David N., Haven't been able to forget this post of yours. At first I thought it was a mistake because of LSI's pr piece a while back about their SONY wins..........

LSI Chip for DVD Player

LSI Logic Corporation today announced that it will supply SONY Corporation with a single-chip DVD decoding engine for SONY's recently announced second-generation DVD video players, the DVPS501D and DVP-M30, which are being launched in Japan this spring.

Then your player is different..s " DVD -ROM Discman PBD-D50"

Do you still think that CUBE could have a SONY win? It would be significant to know that LSI doesn't have a lock on all of SONY's biz. Thanks.
