G. My reference to valuation is based on the market's valuation through our share price. The key componentS in our share price are the beliefs in the market that a) we have a worthwhile discovery or two and; b) we are likely to find more valuable minerals / properties. Since our share price is down, the market must be giving our leading properties less value, despite the greater evidence. As to the other comment, if you quote a rumour you are, by definition, spreading it. The fact that this one makes no sense whatsoever is what makes me think that either you have made it up or you have received it from a disreputable source. For the most part, underwriters/bankers SELL shares and issues, they don't PLACE them at will. (If your investment advisor TOLD you to buy something, would you?) When the market isn't buying, the ability of the underwriters is at some question, as is the ability of the company (us). WE are disappointed and embarassed and ask ourselves what we have done wrong. But when the market is a poor one, when investors are skittish, when all the indicators for the sector are negative, then selling becomes particularly difficult. Specifically, giving the underwriters more shares or cash or other "sweeteners" is no more appropriate than is bribing a customs agent to get your drill off the dock and into the country. Underwriters are not all equal, just like companies, but we're not talking about the sleazes out there. We reach an agreement with bankers and they try to do their job and we give them the support we can. We have a contract and all parties have obligations. To look at it from a different prospective, if we didn't give someone enough of a sweetener, why did they sign the contract in the first place? How much is enough? What did they do instead of "placing" our stock? G: I keep coming back to the same point. If you are going to throw your words around recklessly, at least do us the favour of identifying yourself OR of speaking to me directly OR of checking your facts. You have the same rights as everyone else here and I personally believe that much of the time, your interests are the same as those of virtually everyone else. But when you make accusations and quote what you call rumours, you are playing like this is a game. Like elbowing in hockey, it may be part of the game itself, but what if we were all on the same team? What if our combined objective were to gather as much information as possible -- and trying to ensure that it is reasonably accurate -- in order to decide whether and/or how and/or when to invest in Yamana Resources? If you or anyone else out there thinks I'm lying or trying to drive the stock or covering something up, then let's deal at that level. But this shadow-boxing using comments which are, for people who know how things work, foolish, helps no one. If you can give me a real live source for any "rumour", then name him, her or them. You don't hear the kind of things you have said on "the street" because most of those people know how things work. There are irresponsible people out there who make charges. Fine. But why do they have to be aired in this way -- with apparent venom? As you and others have figured out by now, I am passionate about this company. However, I'm also passionate about telling the truth. There may, from time to time, be things I am not particularly happy discussing openly... but they will NOT be material ones. My world is NOT a shady, manipulative one in which the key objective is to make money, no matter what the means or cost. My world and my place in it reflect the firm belief that this is a strong company, with talented and honest people, good properties, and a vision which has a good chance of growing and turning into an exploration powerhouse. On the other hand, I'm also aware that I don't control the markets or the price of gold or silver or any of a dozen other major factors which are determinants of our success or failure. If you think that I (or we) am (are) hiding behind some great lie or blaming others when we should take the blame ourselves, why don't you just say it. We are not perfect. But please, show me your evidence. Show me your sources. Be specific. Show me that you know what you are talking about. I've read some of the things you have said on other threads and you seem to find it easy to make strong and nasty statements. For this reason, I don't take it personally. Now, is the air clear? I hope this helps. Greg
