So I ask you, was Jesus a liar or God? He could be one or the other. He said he was God. By your above statement and supporting documentation it doesn't look like you are saying he is God? Is that correct? A very tricky type of fallacy in logic. Unfortunately for you, I'm aware of its use. Before I answer your question, let me address the fallacy in your question: To ask the question, "Was Jesus a Liar when he said he was God" is to make the assumption that he said he was God, which is what the Muslim does not believe. It's a fallacy somtimes referred as "The Strawman example" originating from making tiny assumptions which makes it impossible to answer the question. For example, if I asked you, Yes or No, are you going to stop beating your wife? How do you answer? Yes, I mean, no, I mean.....it's impossible. The question assumes that you do beat your wife. So to ask me that I must answer, "Neither." Muslims do not believe that Jesus (Pbuh) was God. One can try to interpret his statements in the context of Paul's teachings but that's only hiding yourself from the truth. If we only look at Jesus' (Pbuh) words, we cannot find evidence that he claimed explicity that he was God. However, we do find many verses to the contrary, from "Do no call me good, Only God is Good" to "You have never seen God, you have never heard his voice." Plenty of evidence where Jesus denied flat out of being God. The problem though is that Christians will choose to believe what their Churches teach instead of what is in the Bible. Or they may think, "So many people believe it so it must be true." Whichever the case, they all will be held accountable for their beliefs on the Last Day. Peace and Blessings of God Be Upon You Ray
