Gabriel, I think we are about 2-3 weeks away from Dataquest and IDC data on the second quarter.

I think we may have some major shifts in market position.

I wonder why HP is doing well while CPQ is falling off? Is CPQ positioned more toward the sub $1k market?

I have not found Computer Intelligence to be a very reliable indicator of sales trends in the past, although their analysis of general technology trends is pretty good. For sales, I like IDC and Dataquest, who do careful research and take their time on analysis.

The 'hole' in the market that is mentioned here as a result of the Win98 launch (products were held waiting for the release of the new OS) may have had an effect on the measured share. This is like after-hours trading - when volume is light, it's hard to see the real trend.
