Patrick, since this research is actual end-user sales we can't assume it has anything to do with Compaq consciously slowing down their sales volume in order to use up existing channel inventory. In fact, near the bottom of the report it stated that Compaq's channel inventory was not going down. This makes sense given that their end-user sales took a major tumble in May.

The first PC sales research reports should come out of Europe in mid to late July with the IDC & Dataquest data for the US & the world following by the end of July.
