Pat,

<<Maybe I'm crazy, but the thought of a guy like Bernard Goetz riding on my subway car armed to the teeth doesn't make me feel safer>>

Perhaps not but I bet you wouldn't try to rob him either.
LOL = Lot of laughs
ROFL = Rolling on the floor laughing
ROFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
Just a couple that you may see in the future as well.

Pat the rest is just my thoughts. It is not directed at you per say. I have had this debate with many people and it really scares me. What it all boils down to IMHO (= in my humble opinion) is that one day a decree will come down ordering the confiscation of firearms just has it has through out the world (Very recently in Australia). When this decree does come down it will tear the very fiber of this country apart. There are many millions of people who will die to keep this from happening and many millions of people that will die trying to make this happen. The military will split in such a decision as will the law enforcement.

During the civil war 25% of all Americans died. One out of every four people for those who don't like percentages. Just think about it for awhile. That would equate to 75MM in today's population. There were decisive battle lines drawn there and there wouldn't be with the banning of the 2nd amendment. The ramifications of such a decision is not understood by very many IMO. The US has become the world police so what happens to the world if there are no more police? What happens to the Saddam Husseins of the world? The decision to ban guns for what ever reason in the US would be the last great mistake anyone could ever make. I am very curious as to why anti-gun advocates would believe that disarming the citizens is even possible. The military isn't going to do it and neither are the police. I wonder if they think that their picket signs will make it happen. The drugies and and hippies are the ones that are and continue coming to power and Clinton is a perfect example of what kind of moronic thinking we have to look forward to. I hope the country lasts long enough for my generation to come of age and power so the problems can start getting resolved. Fight the disease not the symptoms.

JAMA reported that cellular phones cause as many accidents as drunk driving. The report went on to say that they would not be recommending legislation to curb the problem. Well duh ... it would effect the doctors.
