freeus,

A teacher, huh? If you're in the public school system, you have my sympathies, although your students should consider themselves lucky. I survived public education, but it wasn't easy. If children were taught how to think, instead of what to think, the world would be a better place. <g>

Re: The IBD article. I'm amazed that more people aren't up in arms about this and other assaults on our basic freedoms. A little chip here and a little chip there and eventually we'll wake up some day and find no freedom left.

Some posters on the MSFT threads give me a hard time for defending the company against government regulation. When Bill Gates' rights are being attacked, mine are as well.

Regards, JB

I have never wondered if we live in a RESTRICTED democracy. I wouldn't call it a full blown tyranny...although things never just occur...they creep.
Yes, we are on our way to serfdom everytime we give up another one of our liberties to the government. This government, in theory, is designed NOT to overwhelm the minority to the rule of the majority, but to protect minority rights and EXTEND individual choice.

Hi, freeus

Do you have a reference to the survey that you mentioned? Atlas Shrugged is my favorite book and I'd love to have this survey to keep.
