Yes, delays will be like letting hot air out of a baloon...

So, is there anyone here from Microsoft willing to fess up about the problems NT 5 has been having? For those who missed posts from me and some others several weeks ago--we predicted massive delays in NT 5, much to the chagrin of some people on this group who accused us of "hating" Microsoft. We settled on a guess of about last quarter 1999.

Since then, it has come out that NT 5 is now up to almost 40 million lines of code. Thats about 10 million MORE lines of code than about a year ago. That's like adding a new Windows 95 from scratch to the system. I now suspect that this project is literally out of control. I'm pushing my guess on NT 5 back a year and a half. Mid 2001 for NT 5. Alternatively, NT 4.5 sometime after mid 1999.

For those who suspect my motives: I have no position in Microsoft. I have a long position in Novell, which would (will) benefit from a delay in NT 5. My position in Novell is based on my stated beliefs.
