Bob, Re: Window of opportunity. Lithography, probably, yes, but SVGI also has two other divisions. I tend to agree that the lithography division is losing its technological lead. Its Track and Thermco divisions, however, are both playing catch-up by rolling out new products, and may stand to benefit from the recent halt in worldwide chip equipment buying.

That's why there's more talk about technological merits of SVGI products on this thread, because it's the technology that will determine prospects in the eventual cyclical recovery in the industry.

By the way, does anyone have any thoughts or concerns as to why SVGI did not make the VLSI "10 Best" list this year?

<The timing of this slowdown seems especially bad for svgi. They seem to be loosing their lead while this segment is stalled. When/if things crank back up (6-12 months?), how is svgi going to do relative to the others? I'm beginning to think they may have missed their window of opportunity.>

But the bulls think this slowdown may be "sneaky good" because the previous knock on SVGI was they couldnt produce enough scanners in the next big order season... so now the economy is "Waiting for SVGI" to ramp up! Its a beautiful thing!
