Actually Scott I don't want to pay for the increased medical bills of drug users either. Nor of smokers, drinkers or the obese. And I don't want you to pay them either. That is why I want a free market system that allows health care providers to charge insurance rates that are individualized on the basis of risk factors. But the universal health care proponents are against this because one price for all is the only way they can justify universal coverage. And this leads them inevitably to the need to control people's behavior that might generate additional cost.

In a free system the individual will bear the additional cost for coverage that results from unhealthy behavior.
