>> I think all white Americans should do the decent thing and return to Europe, where they came from. <<

Maybe I'll just do that. At least I'd live somewhere where the soccer team would have a shot at winning the World Cup.

>>"Dwight, I disagree with you about the Indians. I would be very happy to give them their land back. I think all white Americans should do the decent thing and return to Europe, where they came from."<<

Good idea. I'll move my bed into Buckingham Palace.

>>"I have studied Indian culture since I was a small child, and passed on my respect for the Indians, their spirituality and their value systems, to my daughter."<<

Me too. When my son was eight I gave him a tomahawk for his birthday.

>>"I support candidates for public office wherever I find them who honor Indians politically, especially our treaties with them. I support the American Indian College Fund with my contributions, so that Indians can attend college and hopefully law school, so they can reassert themselves in this country."<<

I support them too. I recently sent my bear skin rug to a poor tribe in Montana. They sent me a thank you note saying they were going to make jewelry out of the teeth and claws.

>>'I hope they take it back! I hope at some point America apologizes for our deliberate destruction of their culture in an organized way as the Australians did recently with their aborigines."<<

Yes, saying sorry will put a six pack on every table and a TV in every room.

>>"I support the campaign to free Leonard Peltier, who is a political prisoner of the United States government."<<

Good idea. Let's make him Indian Commissioner. He's got my vote.

>>"You have no right, really, to assume that my feelings about the Indians are actionless, Dwight."<<

As long as you remain on former Indian territory you are a common land thief like the rest of us. You are depriving a poor Indian family of a nice place to live.

>>"As far as the rest of your post is concerned, I find it curious that allowing only male property owners to vote still conferred full rights on all men."<<

This country would be much better off today if only male property owners were allowed to vote. Women are much too emotional to make a rational decision as to who is the best candidate for office. Women are much better at cooking, knitting, cleaning, sewing and child rearing than they are at voting. They almost always vote for the wrong candidate. Just look at the mess we have today in Washington thanks to women voters.

I would be very happy to give them their land back.

uhh righttttt. Okay, so what's stopping you from turning the land you own back to the Indians? Creative excuses only, please. It's a simple process to record a "quit claim" deed at your local county govt offices. Fax me the warranty deed showing your giving your land back to an Indian tribe who has ancestral ownership claims in your area, and then I'll believe you. Face it Christine, you know full well you have no intention of doing that.

I think all white Americans should do the decent thing and return to Europe, where they came from.

But you're not going to be first, are you? Noooooo.

I hope at some point America apologizes for our deliberate destruction of their culture in an organized way as the Australians did recently with their aborigines.

Oh yes, that would make everything all better, wouldn't it. "We're sorry we stole your land, but we're not giving it back".

What was it that you disagreed with me on, when you say, "Dwight, I disagree with you about the Indians.

The only thing I could figure from your response was that you think that the Indians should be satisfied with how you "feel", but from all indications, you clearly have no intention of moving off Indian land.

Less talk and more action, please.
