Orckit seems to be the major supplier for DT's ADSL. You will hear official statements in the next weeks.

And this is just the beginning of the broadband copper access in germany. Orckit's technology leadership within VDSL gives them a good position for further steps toward a "DT full service access network".

DT forecasts some 3 mio. broadband lines in 2000 (average estimates).

IMO: Regarding strategic partners for the DT deal, Orckit will do the roll out by their own. After the DT deal is finally fixed we will see some interesting partnership and takeover approaches. If you know the DSL market place, you may know that there are a few global players fitting to Orckit. The major market players already made aquisitions/developments. Fore sure: its not Alcatel. its not Cisco. its not Bay or Cabletron. Lucent partners with Westell and another US vendor. Nokia, Siemens and Ericcson are already developing their own ADSL equipment. Nortel develops the 1 MegModem and announced a Universal Edge.

any thoughts?

cheers
