Just bought an AMD K6-2 300 loaded with 4 gig HD, 32 Meg RAM, AGP graphics board and 3D sound card for $999 from this store called Inca Computer Builders's grand opening in Northridge, California. While I was there, the AMD combos were selling like hot potatos because of the price tag (about 7 when I was there, and the store manager said they sold 200 over the first two days of grand opening).

I was also at Fry's earlier, some small-time OEM "executive" came in and bought 150 AMD k6-2 chips because he needed more supplies than he could allocate wholesale.

Just facts, no hype or lies.

Paul, Is Merrill right?

It seems to me this is the larger question here. And one that can
affect the Microprocessor segment either way.

Is this the "Micron Technology" effect in reverse? ... (too much pessimism). It seems to me this may be what we're dealing with.

Are Kurlak's pronouncements on the mark? Or do they mark the bottom?

John

PS. Isn't it amazing how bulls and bears appear "en masse" when "significant" news come out?

<All I said was HP FAILED TO MENTION AMD -
your puerile fantasy must have played yet another trick on
you - I never mentioned Intel.>

That's exactly the point I am trying to push
your nose into.

<I never mentioned Intel> Yes, this will be soon
a common place - "Intel outside". Heh.

Your intention to skew facts is ugly - your
Peneng experience still hangs out.
