had a teleconference with AT&T yesterday. The Ascend switches have been deployed in their backbone, and are being used for multiservice transport, including for IP traffic. As far as IP Navigator, they haven't decided yet. I take it the jury is still out. I have had talks with about a dozen ISP's, and no one is using IP Navigator, at least not yet. My impression is the software is still immature and not ready for prime time.

Not true. Look at ascend.com or ascend.com or a few other press releases a while back. Many other ISP's choose not to publicize. IP Navigator is carrying a lot of real internet traffic today.
