How does drug use affect your wallet? What substantial part of a working person's wages go to "pay" for drug use?

A victim is somebody who is directly harmed, in some manner, by the actions of an individual or group of people. Certainly economic harm exists. However, the only economic harm I see effecting me with regard to drugs is the cost of the drug war...all those wasted taxpayer dollars.
Think of the savings...the war ends...tax dollars saved. Drug use is taxed mildly...revenue is gained. Right now, all we do is spend money. Wouldn't it be nice to save and invest?
How about prostitution? Another victimless crime....if we legalized it (see Nevada and several other countries like, sigh, the Netherlands or Mexico), we'd earn tax revenue on it AND be able to keep a lid on AIDS/HIV. Instead, we waste police funds on roundups and fill prisons with johns and pros. Meanwhile, outlawed prostitutes scramble to make a buck, and many forgo proper health procedures to prevent the spread of viruses.
Same quarter, different side.
