Wind River preempts Windows charge with Zinc deal.

"For Wind River, which reported $67 million in annual revenue in 1997, the acquisition gives it a third leg in a three-legged stool strategy for graphics solutions. Zinc's technology supplies it with small-footprint, high-performance solutions for certain segments of the market. The company also offers Java solutions, and early acquired a technology license from Network Computer Inc. that will give it an HTML-based approach for certain applications"
