I agree, we're being told what the lawyers will let Don Green say. My question is who is Don Grivner, and how much did he have to do with the current situation? It more that strains credibility to assume the timing of his departure is a coincidence. I can't help but wonder why Cable and Wireless plc would tender him an offer given the debacle he is leaving behind at AFCI. But then the motives of high level executives are seldom what they seem on the surface...

Here are the facts as I see them from the release:

"a setback in China primarily due to a change in local AFC management that in turn caused us to re-establish local distributor relationships, and due to a delay of a digital interface. Domestically, the loss of a bid for sales to GTE last fall has resulted in a winding down of sales to that account. In addition, slower than anticipated penetration of the RBOC has caused a shortfall in U. S. sales growth.

Although not at the level of published analyst expectations, we expect to have a good, solid second half of the year..."

As I see it, there are multiple causes for the decreased earnings, this is not a single quarter phenomena, and will take some time to sort out. The momentum players are obviously leaving this stock, and if or when they are likely to return is an open question. In my opinion, this company will have to show the investment community it can turn the issues around before it it likely regain some of it's losses. Which is unfortunate for me, since I'm long in this stock.
