Does Lucent or Cisco have an SS7 gateway product? I understand that Bay, Nortel and Ascend all have SS7 gateway products that act as a bridge between IP networks and voice networks. I did a search but was unable to find any such product for Lucent or Cisco. Here is an article on SS7 intelligence.

Nortel and Bay have SS7 gateway products. Other companies have products in development. Here is an article on plans of other companies who are working with Stratus.

Paul,

Usually after the earnings are announced, the company will spend an hour or so on a con call with the analysts. If Bay and NT both announced after market, it would pose a logistical problem for the analysts to choose which call to listen to. The way I see it, if the NT call is positive in the A.M, and Bay positive in the P.M. and both companies are able to field the barrage of merger questions, things should start looking up.

Another explanation may be that historically, NT announces in the A.M. I'm not sure about that one.
