This has been a most unpleasant year for my portfolio. I should have thrown out all I learned about investing over the years and dumped my $$ into Yahoo and Amazon where there is no value, just hype. But hype moves these stocks, why buy a company that is selling for less than 1X book or 1X revenues, when you can own a company at 64X book, 1000 PE with hype behind it? All my idiot friends who just started investing are kicking my Ass by owning these stocks and are questioning my judgement. They couldn't tell you what a PE is but they know they doubled their money. So frustrating....
