So, is this new chip going to drive the DRAM prices even lower?

Ramsey

TOKYO (Nikkei)-Toshiba Corp. has developed a 128-megabit DRAM chip
with a footprint of 95 sq. millimeters, smaller than equivalent chips now
on the market, company officials said Wednesday. The firm will start
sample shipping late this month.

Samples will be priced at 5,000 yen to 5,500 yen. Toshiba plans to
produce about 100,000 chips per month from October, the officials
added.

With prices and profits from the current mainstay 64-megabit DRAMs
declining, NEC Corp. (6701) and Hitachi Ltd. (6501) are also shifting
production to 128M memories.

Hi Paul V and Others,

Sorry for not posting for a long while... The recent Yoyo Drop of -8% (from 32 to 29 7/16) that ended yesterday, is Bullish for the stock. A 10% or more correction would have been disastrous. So, we may be seeing a Yoyo Catch at 32 or more in the following days (the DOW 30 on its way to attempt to overcome the 9200 barrier would be a great help)...

In one of your posts, you asked me to confirm that if the stock hits 70, it would go on to hit 100. You are right! Actually 63 is the favorite Landing or staging ground for AMAT to Stair-step its way to 100...

(By the way Tom Kurlak picked 60 as the price where INTC is going to fall , not 50 or less. He knows that the stock usually bottoms around 60 then goes all its way Up to 100)

Paul, you asked an interesting question >> I wonder if our
negative sentiments are on target or whether these sentiments
are a contrarian indicator.

The semi equipment outlook is cloudy and all I hear says
things won't improve for a year or so. Normally stock
prices don't rise that far ahead of a better outlook.

Looking at SI overall, the bull/bear ratio has increased
a lot lately, though. Some of those voting bullish must
be invested in AMZN. <g>
