Clinton became head of the Dems because he is the mostest corruptest and the bestest liar:

China adventures

As President Clinton continues his journey throughout
Lippo Land ... er China, the number of witnesses refusing to
testify in the House Government Reform and Oversight
Committee's foreign-money investigation -- including how
many Chinese yuan were funneled to the Democratic National
Committee -- now tops 100.
Thirty-six witnesses, we've learned, have now either fled the
country or live outside the country and refuse to be
interviewed. Another 68 witnesses have exercised their Fifth
Amendment right not to testify. Grand total: 104.
The list includes DNC fund-raiser John Huang, presidential
pal Charlie Trie, Lippo Group's James and Mochtar Riady,
and Macau financier Ng Lap Seng, who underwrote hundreds
of thousands in contributions by Mr. Trie.

And then there are the shills, Geraldo being one of the shilliest:

Head cheerleader

NBC's Geraldo Rivera continues to serve as head
cheerleader for President Clinton in China.
On Tuesday morning, in an interview with Secretary of
State Madeleine K. Albright that appeared on the "Today"
show, Mr. Rivera asked, "Wouldn't it be very easy for the
Chinese just to slip back to the pre-Clintonian days, where
repression was the rule and the airwaves were once again ruled
by the state?"
Brent Baker of the Media Research Center, which
monitored the program, comments: "Huh? Is Rivera in
Shanghai or Shangri-La? Repression is over? The airwaves are
not ruled by the state because they allowed Clinton on for an
hour?"

Playboy Interview:Matt Drudge
Playboy Magazine
August, 1998 David Sheff, Contributing Editor

Here are some highlights from the August issue of Playboy's "candid conversation with journalism's bad boy about being the internet's first star, clinton's worst nightmare and the guy who scoops the big-time media."

Apologies if some of you experience a sense of deja vu going back

PLAYBOY: On Meet the Press you said there are more women in the Clinton scandal. Still?
DRUDGE: Alot has come out since I said that. I'd already reported Willey. A former Miss America came out. And the airline stewardess. There were a bunch of them. There is another woman, who is cooperating with Starr. It's a serious obstruction issue: Clinton gave her gifts, allegedly, and someone from another branch of government offered her employment for silence. This continues beyond the Paula Jones suit. I'm working on that; I have her name. I've been given the whole story. I'm working on other angles that I haven't fully developed. In the highest office of the land, it looks like there may have been a coordinated effort to force people to lie, to threaten people to get them to lie, to reward people for lying.
