I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank the right wing ideologues for bashing Loral to the point where I could get back in at the steal price of 25. Having sold after the sharp run up a few months ago to 32.

Sitting on some nice 20% profits here in less than a month. Just on the political swing alone.

Pretty. <ggg>

OFF TOPIC

I am getting increasingly tempted to get back in to WCOM as I figure between those guys and LOR, the internet backbone pipes will be spoken for!

Qwest and Level 3 (QWST and LVLT) may figure prominantly in the backbone future. I'm currently researching them. You probably already knew about them... I'm trying to sort out what the likly mix between Big Fiber, Terrestrial P2P Wireless (art, teligent) and Satcom will be. The three catagories follow a spectrum that trades off high bandwidth (Big fiber) for global-last mile access (satellites). At first glance, it looks like the three categories don't compete with each other directly- the bandwidth differences will segment the market. However, there is the possibility for satcom to compete with the other two, if the cost per byte is low enough. (Though more with terrestrial wireless) Skybridge could directly compete with Teligent on bandwidth, I believe. (In the sense that the customer gets a T3, and they are happy. Teligent may be able to server far more customers in an area...)

I just wish Loral had a more direct piece of SkyBridge.
