>>>Am I dreaming if I imagine OPENCortex allowing us to monitor our home appliances remotely through the internet? Left a light on - no problem just check and turn it off from the office<<<

Dear Glenn:

No you are not dreaming! I had this very discussion with ALYA's pr person Dale concerning the potential of ALYA software. Ultimately any device attached to the LON network could be monitored via remote computer access. These devices (lights, stereos, other consumer appliances, security, building mechanicals) however all have to be equipped with a three (3) dollar chip that receives ALYA's software's instructions.

What has to be established is a standard for compliance for any potential device that can be added onto to the LON network.

What is particularly exciting about the technology is that it is modular. As devices come onto the market, they can be added onto the network.

Though LON's have this potential using ALYA's software platforms, ALYA's focus on smart building security and energy systems is wise.
IMO first established a niche...than EXPAND!!

Or, in other words, no problem with a little bit of dreaming.
