Hi Alex,
Sorry Armageddon looks disappointing- it isn't really my kind of movie so I haven't read any of the buzz about it.

I did see some really good movies this weekend. Saw A Pure Formality with Depardieu, wonderful. Also saw Fearless which I had somehow never been in the mood to see, it was OK. I saw Looking for Richard- interesting, especially since I had just seen Ian McShane's Richard. IMO Pacino made an AWFUL Richard, but the movie gives neat background on the play. I am of the opinion that the English, and especially classically trained English actors, do much better with Shakespeare than do Americans. They still have the elitist notion in Britain (or at least they did, not sure about now) that you teach the BEST not just what is "culturally sensitive." So the Brits get high doses of the Bard from young ages. Bound to be sallutory. Anyway gave me the giggles to see the great Derek Jacobi saying Americans give themselves the willies over Shakespeare because we think we aren't up to it. We aren't- for the most part.

As for ARMAGGEDON, I am not a space science buff so I can't comment on its accuracy. However, the story was descent and the acting was just fine and the special effects were spectacular enough to warrant the price of admission IMO. I had a much more enjoyable evening then I expected as I was set to watch a schlocky movie. Also, my wife saw DEEP IMPACT and said it was not as good as ARMAGGEDON. Myron
