VM Labs is for real and has some manufacturers behind it. Basically, it is an alternative entertainment/internet system that is supposed to have DVD with video out, 3D graphics, and internet capabilities. It will be positioned as an alternative WebTV/MicrosoftPC/Game Console kind of thing. Will it actually get a lot of buyers? Who knows. To hear them talk, they will crush everyone: Microsoft, Sega, Nintendo, Sony, Intel, yadda yadda :) I think their core team has roots in game consoles (i.e. Atari).

Note, however, that this is not the first attempt at the uber-media chip. There was Chromatics and Trimedia off the top of my head. Why should this attempt be any more successful than the other attempts?

Do a search for VMLabs.
vmlabs.com (although they will tend to be flattering).
