We can always dream though. It would fix both companies problems in a _VERY_ efficient manner. Plus if this deal was reached in a backroom, it would forever get the FTC off of Cyrix's case. Cyrix could make token offerings into Intel's "space" and vice-versa.. it would work very well IMHO.. but hey I don't run things ;-)

Well now that is a thought. Outright collusion is of course illegal, but companies reach tacit understandings all the time. (GM and Ford are notorious for that). The Disk Drives tried to become an oligopoly with WDC taking the low-end, Qntm taking the middle ground and SEG taking the high-end, but it obviously has collapsed.

Well Dale, I don't think Intel can, or will even _TRY_ to compete in the $750 or lower PC market. I think $999 is the lowest that want to go.

Well, I think they might with the StrongArm processor. I think they are about to launch it sometime soon (just my guess).

Right now to be honest with you I'm not sure what sectors if any are looking good. MPU market is crap. Disk sector needs a major shakeup. DRAM, well DRAM is DRAM. Bio-Chem.. missed the Viagra rush, and nothing else looks like it's going to come close. Resources _may_ be a good play, but I have to look. Even bank stocks are looking shakey to _ME_. With the problems in Asia, the banks who lent money over there (99.99% of them) are going to start to feel it _real_ soon.
I'm think about a matress account ;-)..

That makes sense, if you don't have a place to put it, just hold cash. That is what I did after I sold my Intel at $85, I had Cash and MSFT. Then when Intel fell to $68 I jumped back in. That is how the game is played.

However, if you are an options man I will tell you who will _NOT_ do well in the next 6 months (barring any major announcements):
HWP
SUNW
CSCO (starting about 2 months from now CSCO will start to drop like a rock IMHO).
NSCP (duh! ;-) )
If you would like I can elaborate on all of the above.

Please elaborate. I take it you would recommend PUTS for the above. All of the above look like PUT candidates to me.

One company I am starting to think about buying (well 2 actually) are:
TXN and LU.. but I'm not sure of _even_ those..

I was holding LU and did very well, but I sold to soon and missed out on a fabulous runnup. Oh well, I was happy with the profits.
