Dale,

That just might be true. If AMD and NSM improve their yields then INtel will continue to respond with more price cuts. For awhile it looked as though the decline in AMD stock price was indicative of yield problems, but it may be more indicative of what will happen if they improve their yields

It is also indicative of the improved yields and speed grades at NSM's fab and the realization that while everyone thinks AMD signing with IBm as a fab source is a good idea, IBM (despite industry leading technology) makes a lowsy fab partner due to wafers costs and their reluctance to use their "Best" processes on things which aren't home grown.

Right now AMD only has INtel to compete with in the 350/400 market (when and if they release). However, I have been lead to believe that NSM's fab is going to be quite capable of yielding these speed grades (and already has on test wafers). The means more downward pricing pressure on AMD. NSM however is about as low as you can go and the general public perception is that market share has been slipping for the cyrix product line.

Add the the 400 MII's a 300MHZ Media Gx and AMD is in big trouble (as like is Celeron, with the pending improvements to the Gx and the coming MXi).
