I saw borders.com site and it seems that it is as good as amazon.com One of the biggest
problems with Barnes and Noble is that the site is too slow and many people cannot get
the spelling right.

Roger,

Borders site is a good piece of work. Borders was not ready to place it only until September of this year. They chose to place it online in early June. However, their grand opening will be in September. The site still has some bugs but they are working on them. Multible lists of the same item is one. They and I have been in touch and I inform them when I locate a bug. hey promptly correct it. You are also correct about speed. barnesandnoble.com seems to have slow response. I am not sure why but will ask them.

There has so much made out of the early lead of amazon.con. Actually, I believe they spent way too much too early advertising to a very small part of the population. The amount of people on the net in 1996 was relatively small. The net is now becoming main stream. Note the more seasoned retailers waited to spend their advertising dollars when there was a greater market to reach. Amazon has already spent all of its IPO money and has a negative net equity. On the other hand, BGP and BKS can now spend money and target a far greater audience.

B&N.COM would be a big improvement, for sure.
I expect them to make this change (so that typing
either way gets you to the same site).
