<<Borders is the least organized at present. They plan on have that problem cleaned up by summers end. >>

Their online store is not their only problem. I was in one of their superstores yesterday, and at least half of their CD demo players weren't working. It was infuriating.

Amazon does have some equity (according to the
balance sheet I get from Zacks), about 19 million.
B&N has about 600 million equity, Borders about
600 million. Vivus, which crashed from 45 to 5
(once Viagra hit the market) has equity of about
100 million. Its cap shrunk from 1.3 b to 150 m.
Mary Meeker has to know that Amazon, whose best
quarterly revenues are 87 m, has major competition
on the horizon. The question people will ask
friends is "Do you use the comparitive, price-
checking book-searches? Bigger discounts and
lower margins are coming on internet book sales.
