<Upward movement started Monday, continued into Thursday. Something happened Thursday afternoon, after hours, and during Friday the major damage was done.> Tim, I have inserted into your table the press releases from SanDisk during the week of the large swings in price. <Date ********* Volume---------High---------Low------Close 06/15/98******* 418,900------15 3/16------14 3/8-----14 7/8 06/16/98******* 241,200------16 3/8--------14 7/8-----16 1/4> Philips Will Sell SanDisk CompactFlash Memory Cards for New Nino Palm-Size PC - BUSINESS WIRE - June 17, 1998 10:47 (Wednesday) 06/17/98******1,216,300------19 1/4-------16 3/8--------19 UP 2 3/4 06/18/98******* 818,000-------19 1/2---15 7/8----16 1/4 DOWN 2 3/4 SanDisk Expects Second Quarter 1998 Revenues and Earnings to be Below 1st Quarter -BUSINESS WIRE- June 18, 1998 18:00 (Thursday at close) 06/19/98******2,131,400------14 1/4--- 12 1/4-------13 1/2 DOWN 2 3/4 Incidentally, I made up the same table but did not post it. I had another interesting date on my chart: May 21 A director of SNDK named Rizzi: bought 30,000 SNDK at 16 5/8 ($498,900) increasing his holdings to 48,333, approximately 1 month before the announcements from SanDisk. I assume his is still holding the stock. I have accumulated SNDK at prices from $10 to $23 per share. But what hurt most, was holding $30 calls when SNDK hit $40, only to watch the options expire as SNDK sank below $30 never to rise again. On the positive side, 3 million shares were sold in the secondary offering. If my memory serves me, the secondary was at $28/share when the market price was about $26. To me this means that large blocks had to be sold by the underwriters. Small timers would not pay $28 when they could get the stock on the open market for $26. Anyway, I'm holding onto my shares of SNDK for a while. Harari has taken on the big boys in the past and won every time. Although the outcome of litigation is unpredictable, I believe that the speeds LEXAR obtains will not be the determining factor in the outcome of the suit. Apparently, the patents that SNDK holds are fairly broad. Time will tell. Good luck NHP
