what is NSM doing to increase its earnings? and, will NSM ever recover $40 per share?

Eugene,

The question "who's chip is better" ultimately determines the answers to your questions. Determining the value of any CPU company's future products is a tremendously complicated problem, bordering on chaos.

In light of this we might as well have some fun speculating, arguing, whining, etc.

Eugene, Amen to you too. How about a PCOAC box that connects to your TV and provides stereo output to USB speakers for amazing quality? Available functions might include:

1) Set the time on your TV and VCR via a realtime clock <g>

2) Display your CD/DVD inventory.

3) Change selections in your jukebox using a Web-like interface.

4) Support "added content" on CD/DVDs via the Internet.

5) Automatically assemble random collections of songs by your "mood".

6) Remind you audibly when your favorite TV program is on.

7) Record Southpark on hard disk so you can edit out the parts you don't want your kids to see (most of it?)

8) Offer a "bathroom" button so that you can leave the TV set for a few minutes and not miss anything (the system will purge enough commercials to bring you back in sync when you return.)

9) Show a detailed profile of each TV program and movie.

10) Support 1MB telephone connections a LAN for back-ups and multiplayer games.

11) Rebroadcast cable shows via 900MHz spread spectrum so that other TVs and PCs in your home can share one satellite box.

12) Send audio over your in-house phone lines so that you can connect speakers anywhere there is a telephone jack.

13) Provide an intelligent burgular alarm that keeps track of all the warm bodies in your home and sets off an alarm only when someone new enters from the outside.

14) "Computer, locate Sarah. Reply: Sarah is watching Garfield in her bedroom".

15) "Computer, email for Bill. Discard junkmail. Read it to me in the kitchen."

The potential market for such a device is staggering. The trick is in packaging and the software (it has to be VERY friendly).

Anyone care to add to this list?
