Are you basing your Intel investment thesis on the hope that the competition will go out of business? This seems a bit of a reach considering both companies are about as old as Intel.

Well if it comes down to Intel vs. NEC type of bidding, no one will win. NEC and INtel will each bid each other into oblivion. I mean it will be hard for Intel to explain to it's investors that they paid some $600M for patents that they had already anyway (I mean Intel doesn't need x86 patents ;-)
