You know very well Intel would not buy the x86 patents for its intrinsic value. Its sort of like why you would buy a muffler for the car. It doesn't help performance, but it cuts down on the noise.

BTW: I have a question for you. What do you think of AMAT? It seems they would be a beneficiary of these chip wars. I may have to look at that stock. AT & T may be another. Both have been hammered of late.
