I am saying the Jews knew he was claiming deity.

You mean the Jews believed that Jesus (Pbuh) was claiming deity. So

(1)Do you admit that you are believing they were correct in their assumptions?

(2) Do you admit Jesus (Pbuh) told the Jews they never understood what he said?

Please answer both of these questions with a simple "yes" or "no."

3. Jesus (Pbuh) tells us that he only speaks God's words.

God speaks God's words...I think I agree with this one!

Careful, Jesus (Pbuh) made a clear distinction:

John 8:28

So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [the one I claim to be] and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.

John 12:49

For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.

Here Jesus (Pbuh) says he only speaks what the Father has taught him - only what the Father has commanded him to say. He only speaks God's words, not his own. Are you trying to say Jesus (Pbub) implied he only speaks what he taught himself? Does God teach God? Does God learn? I thought God was all knowing? Does God command Himself as well?

You did not answer the other 2 vital questions I made:

>>Here Jesus (Pbuh) questions the scribes why they reason the way they reason. If they were correct, would Jesus (Pbuh) question their reasoning? <<

After the scribes said "Who can forgive sins but God alone?," Jesus (Pbuh) asked them: "Why do you reason with these things in your hearts?"

Further, you said "Only God can forgive sins." Jesus (Pbuh) however, says that "But they ye may know that the son of man has power on this earth to forgive sin."

In fact, he said this as a response to the scribes' question "Who can forgive sins but God?" So what's clear is Jesus (Pbuh) is telling them that the son of man can also forgive sins. Why else would he question their reasoning and follow up with "The Son of Man can forgive sins on earth?"
