You said: You mean the Jews believed that Jesus (Pbuh) was claiming deity. So (1)Do you admit that you are believing they were correct in their assumptions? (2)Do you admit Jesus (Pbuh) told the Jews they never understood what he said? Please answer both of these questions with a simple "yes" or "no." I say: The way you ask questions, I can not answer simply Yes and No! The same logic problem applies to your questions as you told me I am guilty of when I ask a question. I am trying to answer a question with an explaination, as you always ask for, and then you say I never explain. I will try again: (1)Do you admit that you are believing they were correct in their assumptions? I believe in the verse that we are discussing, the Jews were making the accusation that Jesus was calling himself God because Jesus was forgiving sins. I believe that they, the Jews, in this verse were correct in their assumptions! (2)Do you admit Jesus (Pbuh) told the Jews they never understood what he said? I admit in some of the verses we discussed, Jesus said the Jews did not understand him. This is not a blanket statement though, as you are trying to pin me too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You said: Further, you said "Only God can forgive sins." Jesus (Pbuh) however, says that "But they ye may know that the son of man has power on this earth to forgive sin." In fact, he said this as a response to the scribes' question "Who can forgive sins but God?" So what's clear is Jesus (Pbuh) is telling them that the son of man can also forgive sins. Why else would he question their reasoning and follow up with "The Son of Man can forgive sins on earth?" I say: The question is who are they are talking to and referencing? Answer, Jesus Christ! Did Jesus have the authority to forgive sins? Answer, clearly Yes! You need to understand about the deity of God. That Jesus is part of the deity. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These parts all make up God. All three! Does this answer your questions? God Bless You, Steve
