RSD- I would love to buy in the $80s again, but don't see it possible.

I would like to see some reasoning for this level of pessimism, myself. Something is telling me on the next overall market dip, perhaps due to some earnings shortfall, I should complete my little buy.

I like L.G.'s "reinvention" of IBM, and recent technological progress in getting from the lab to product in quick time, for a behemouth.

I also like IBM's patent coverage of semiconductors and networking. These patents are potentially quite valuable.

Trouble spots are in PCs and enterprise software, but I expect enterprise software to improve as the rubber hits the road for Microsoft.

IBM looks good to me- I would like someone to make a reasoned counter-case.

R.

Expecting a general slowdown in the economy led by the tech sector.

Margin in many high tech products beginning to erode. First, it was disk drives, now it is chips, PCs are next, focus on last minute (ditch) Y2K efforts will slow even larger capital investments. Don't believe the silly stuff about a bottom or a turn-around just around the corner for these.

Asia's impact has yet to be felt worldwide.

Do you think that investment in IT technology alone is enough to keep our economy growing?
