Harold, spoken like a true optimistic TDFX long.

I believe that the reason Diamond announced yesterday that they were going with the S3 Savage 3D chip was that the price performance ratio makes it perfect for the OEM market...and they know that with DX6 glide will become less and less of an issue. When you have V2 performance or better for $99-149 MSRP...it gets to be a no brainer.

V2 is a great card many of my friends have them...but the writing is on the wall. You are begining to see the next generation of very fast and very cheap 2D/3D cards/chips....and right now it appears that the S3 Savage chip is one of them. Just ask Diamond...

S3 seems to have a loser on their hands is more like it. This is strictly because of their very high price for an average to above average board. Estimates put the price around 199$ for a 8MB board that has much slower 3D performance than a Voodoo 2. Why would gamers want to buy this card? Concerning the AGP, there is only one game on the market right now that actually utilizes 1X AGP to its full capacity and that is the ever popular G-Police (Said with sarcasm) and there are none that utilize 2x AGP.
